Ayres Rocking Horse Retailers
Ayres rocking horses were rocking horses made by F. H. Ayres, which are widely heralded as beautiful examples of the genre. Few, if any, rocking horse makers were able to match the beautifully conceived designs of F. H. Ayres. In latter years, the company changed ownership and became Ayres Sports Goods.Ayres rocking horses were to be found on sale in many toy shops and departments stores around the country, including:
- Harrods of London
- Hamleys of London
- Army & Navy of London
- Selfridge's of London
- A. W. Gamage of Holborn, London
At the height of its output, it was estimated that F. H. Ayres was producing many hundreds of rocking horses a year.
